This meaty, rustic blend is truly one to represent the hot climate and alluvial soils of this appellation. This particular cuvée was harvested after the main harvest when just a few grapes were left on the vines. The term Givré in French means frozen when talking about grapes and hothead when referring to friends!

The Domaine des Favards is near Avignon in the Vaucluse Region and it has a clay-limestone-gravely soil. Stressed by the Mistral wind and the hot sun, vines produce low yields of high quality fruit.
60 acres of vineyards surround the Barbaud Family's gite, they farm it organically and produce two appellations: Cotes du Rhone & Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu.
