Les Remparts de Birol
Damien & Anais Labiche whose families have been making wine for generations started their own venture in 2010 when they purchased a domaine in Northern Bordeaux, in the hilly appellation of Cotes de Bourg.
The vineyard is on a slope facing south so it benefits from extra sun exposure that delivers riper fruit and intense flavors.
Vineyard has 25 to 30 year old vines. 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon are cold soaked for a week then spend 2 weeks of fermentation followed by 8 months of development in stainless steel.
Great balance of fruit, tannins and acidity that will drink well for the next decade.
